December 16 - exploring along the river

snow and mist in uiterwaarden

Dymph has arrived...and so has a dusting of snow last night. This morning it was misting, but not too cold so we went for a walk along the river. On the path we saw the first of a few fresh mole hills. Those first days in winter when it is misting are beautiful...after weeks of it you're longing to see the sun again!

Dymph is taking pictures of part of the uiterwaarden (flood plain) that was covered with a thin layer of ice.

This is the place where we probably will install and film some of the work. Some horses came to the fence to greet us. On the horizon the former steenfabriek (brick yard) "de Bovenste Polder" is visible. It produced bricks from 1923 to 1965. In 1996 is was renovated and the next year visual artists and musicians moved in.
